Market research used to be a luxury. Now it costs a zero less.
diligentpixel runs market research and data-based decisions on public data, vetted sources, and data gathering tools we build for each client. The tech boom made that affordable. It also means you no longer have to take the shortcuts you used to take.

What we believe
Not long ago, the research that tells you whether a product is ready, a price is right, or an audience is real was priced for corporations. Only they could pay for it. The tech boom changed that. The same work now costs a zero less, it moves faster, it gets built faster, and the follow-up is more detailed than anything that was possible before. We are still a little in awe of it.
We believe in open source and data democracy. We are adepts of open science. We want our clients working the same way, because a decision you can check is worth more than one you have to trust.
Market research costs far less
Market research and marketing monitoring now cost a fraction of what they used to. The work that was priced for corporations is within reach of a small company.
Faster, and followed up properly
Research that took a quarter takes weeks. The work gets built faster, and the follow-up keeps running after launch instead of stopping at the report.
Information democracy
We believe information belongs to everyone, and that science belongs to everyone. Knowledge that is locked away stops being knowledge and starts being leverage.
You own your source code
The tools we build for you are yours. You get the source code, the data, and the method, and you keep using all of it after we leave.
Tools crafted for your needs
We do not point a generic dashboard at your market. Each data gathering tool is crafted and adapted to your product, your competitors, and your customers.
You no longer have to compromise
Guessing the audience and hoping the launch works were compromises people made because research was expensive. It is not expensive anymore, so you can stop making them.

Data
We start with public data, from sources we can name and you can check. Company filings, marketplace and review data, search demand, pricing histories, competitor movements, and the first-party data you already own but rarely have the time to dig into. Your support tickets and your sales calls usually hold more truth about the market than any report you could buy.
Every source gets vetted before it earns a place in the work. We drop the ones that will not survive scrutiny, however convenient they are, because a clean source you can check is worth more than a large one you cannot. This is the stage that decides whether everything after it is evidence or decoration.
Analysis
We read the data to find what is actually driving growth, and what only looks like it. This is where AI earns its keep. It reads the thousands of reviews, tickets, and listings that no team has the hours to get through, and it finds the patterns hiding in them. What it cannot do is tell you what those patterns mean for a company in your position, in your market, this year. That call stays human, because judgment is cultural. A brand that lands in London can fall flat in Berlin, and no model knows that from the numbers alone.
We show the method and the working. You can disagree with any conclusion we reach and trace exactly where it came from.
Tools
Every market is shaped differently, so the thing that gathers the data has to be shaped differently too. We build data gathering and monitoring tools for your market, tuned to your competitors, your customers, and the questions you actually need answered. A generic dashboard rented by a thousand companies tells a thousand companies the same thing. A tool built for one company tells that company something nobody else knows.
The tools are yours. You get the source code, and you keep running them long after the engagement ends. We would rather leave you with a machine that keeps working than a report that stops the day we hand it over.
Strategy
Now the fundamentals get answered, and these are the questions most companies skip because they are uncomfortable. Is the product ready. Is the price right against what it costs you to make. Is the audience real, or just the one you assumed. Did you miss an audience that was there the whole time. Does the way the company actually runs match the promise the brand is making. We ask these before anyone spends money on a campaign, because a campaign cannot fix a wrong answer underneath it.
The answers become a plan you can act on: where to compete, what to say, and the order to move in so each step builds on the one before it.
Execution
We put the strategy live and stay on it. Design, site, content, ads, whatever the plan calls for, delivered in-house or through people we have worked with for years. You get one accountable partner, not a chain of suppliers pointing at each other when something slips.
The monitoring tools keep running through all of it, so the follow-up is continuous rather than a report that ends the engagement. We watch what the market does with the work and tighten it against real results until the numbers move. This is the part that makes the rest of it honest. Anyone can hand over a strategy and leave before it is tested. We stay for the test.
The process follows the belief
We start with public data. Company filings, marketplace and review data, search demand, pricing, and whatever first-party data you already have and have never read properly. We name every source, and we drop the ones that will not survive scrutiny. A clean source you can check beats a large one you cannot.
Then we build the tools. Every market is shaped differently, so the thing that gathers the data has to be shaped differently too. We write our own data gathering tools for each client, the same way the execution is made for each client, because that is how it should be. A scraper tuned to your competitors tells you more than a dashboard rented by a thousand companies.
The point of all this is simple. The shortcuts you used to take, guessing the audience, skipping the pricing work, launching and hoping, existed because research was expensive. It is not expensive anymore. You do not need to compromise, and we would rather spend two weeks proving your audience is real than spend your budget finding out it is not.

Frequently asked questions
Where does your data come from?
Public sources we can name and you can check: company filings, marketplace and review data, search demand, pricing data, and your own first-party data. If a source will not survive scrutiny, we do not use it.
Do you build custom research tools for each client?
Yes. Every market is shaped differently, so we write our own data gathering tools for each engagement instead of pointing a generic dashboard at your industry. A tool tuned to your competitors and your customers returns things a rented one never will.
Why is market research cheaper than it used to be?
Compute, open data, and AI took the cost out of the grunt work. Research that once needed a large team and a full quarter now needs a small team and a few weeks. You pay a zero less than you would have ten years ago, the work moves faster, and the follow-up is more detailed.
What do you mean by open science and data democracy?
You get the data, the tools, and the reasoning behind the call, not only the conclusion on the slide. We show our sources and our method so you can check the work, disagree with it, and keep using it after we leave. We believe in open source, and we build on it.
Do we still have to compromise on research to fit a budget?
Much less than before. The old trade-offs existed because research was priced out of reach, so people guessed the audience and hoped the launch worked. That constraint is gone. We would rather prove your audience is real than watch your budget find out it is not.
